Job Title
Manufacturing Technician – Instruments Hiring Range: $18.00 to $20.00
Position
The Manufacturing Technician is responsible for performing electrical and mechanical assembly and test operations for mechanical, electro-mechanical and pneumatic assemblies and sub-assemblies in accordance with work instructions and engineering drawings. This position will perform soldering operations to meet industry standards and is expected to maintain a clean workspace including bench area, parts bins, and storage shelves.
We are currently seeking a Manufacturing Technician – Instruments to join our team on-site in Ithaca, NY.
Job Responsibilities
• Perform a variety of tasks related to electrical and/or mechanical assembly and test operations for mechanical, electro-mechanical and pneumatic assemblies, and sub-assemblies in accordance with engineering drawings and instructions.
• Perform assembly operations for wiring and harness sub-assemblies and assemblies in accordance with engineering drawings and work instructions.
• Perform soldering operations to meet industry standards (J-STD and/or IPC 610)
• Fully and accurately complete all required documentation of work (written and electronic) per procedures.
• Assist with resolving documentation issues or manufacturing quality problems.
• May disassemble, modify, rework, reassemble, and test experimental or prototype assemblies and subassemblies according to specifications.
• Perform in-process product testing to documented quality control procedures prior to transfer to systems test.
• Assist with maintaining an adequate inventory of supplies related to manufacturing operations.
• Maintain a clean workspace including bench, parts bins, and storage shelves. Maintain the work center in a safe and orderly manner.
• Perform other activities as needed to support the manufacturing and plant operations.
This position will report directly to the Operations Manager.
Job Requirements
• HS/GED and 2 years’ experience or equivalent combination of school and experience.
• Ability to read mechanical and electrical drawings and follow both written and verbal work instructions.
• Basic computer skills such as MS Work and MS Excel to enter data, complete and document work.
• Ability to work collaboratively in a team setting.
• Strong organization and communication skills, both oral and written.
• Excellent attention to detail; sound judgment; problem solving skills.
• Strong work ethic. Able to meet deadlines and prioritize tasks.
