Mechanical Engineer

Description:
The Mechanical Engineer shall
perform conceptual and detailed design, analysis
and verification of complex analytical laboratory mechanical, electro-mechanical
instruments and/or assemblies using advanced principles, theories, and
concepts. Shall demonstrate mature engineering judgment in technical recommendations
and develop new engineering concepts and theories pertaining to system
configuration and disciplines. Work closely with scientists and engineers
to gain full understanding of the required design criteria and ensure
that the instruments fulfill the scientific requirements. The ideal candidate
shall be able to plan, organize and lead technical projects.
Requirements:
The successful candidate must
have a Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or relevant field with
at least 5 years of experience in mechanical design/sustaining engineering. Computer
Aided Drawing (CAD) experience in either Pro-Engineer or SolidWorks and
new product development process experience is required. Must possess strong
analytical skills, excellent written and oral communication skills, and
has the ability to effectively communicate to all levels of the company
and collaborate with cross functional groups. A solid working knowledge
of machine shop practices and machining abilities of standard machine
tools is needed to design components effectively. Some travel to customer
sites (domestic and international) is required.
